#1 Hello Everyone! I’m John.

I was a manager for an American outsourcing company, and I worked in that industry for 14 years. In the past six years, I found my passion in teaching, and I've been a full-time instructor for Bellevue Eigonoheya. The students I teach come from different walks of life and they have very unique needs. I've been supporting the English language studies of high school and junior high school students, University students, adult learners, and business professionals. We open our doors to everyone. Through genuine conversations, speaking and listening practice methods, my mission is to help students enjoy learning and achieve their own goals.

#2 Hashtags

A #hashtag is a topic. It can also be used to organize or search, usually used in websites, social media or applications.

#Philippines #Manila
While I’m teaching students in Japan, I live in Manila, Philippines with my wife and two children. I would like to share a little bit a bout our culture and show you around the city through this blog.

#motivation
Students have different reasons for studying, different goals, and they get motivated in different ways. I’ll share some of the ways students get motivated, some of their successes, and challenges.

#onlinelearning #remoteworking
Even before the pandemic, we have been using online learning as an effective and convenient way to study. During the pandemic, many people have adjusted and learned to take advantage of this method. Along the way, we had some ideas and experiences I’d like to share ith you.

#expressions #vocabulary
Do you feel comfortable using expressions like “take advantage of” or “along the way?” I look forward to telling you more about these expressions and the right words for a situation.

#3 My Day Off

On Sunday mornings, which is my day off, I usually go for a bike ride around the city. On Sundays, the traffic is light and the temperature outside is 27 degrees centigrade, which is considered to be “cool” in a tropical country l ike the Philippines.

Before going back home, I take a brief rest in a café. There’s a lot of coffee shops in the city and this one is a UCC.
It’s interesting, because upon entering the store the staff greets you with いらっしゃいませ!
I remembered that UCC is originally from Japan and I heard it’s pretty popular. I had the “Sumiyaki” coffee. It’s very satisfying and delicious.
